CUPE 900 represents municipal workers across the Thompson-Nicola, including those in the communities of Ashcroft, Barriere, Chase, Clearwater, Clinton, Kamloops, Logan Lake, Lytton, and Merritt, plus those working for the TNRD itself. Workers at the Kamloops Golf and Country Club, Kamloops Wildlife Park Society, and the Raleigh Waterworks are also among the 900+ members of CUPE Local 900. Orange Shirt Day | Sep 30
September 30th is Orange Shirt Day, Canada’s national day for Truth & Reconciliation. Please ensure that you are purchasing orange shirts directly from reputable retailers whose proceeds go directly to those impacted by residential schools. You can purchase shirts benefitting the Orange Shirt Society here. Read the TRC Commission’s 94 Calls to Action, and contact CUPE BC to receive TRC pamphlets and booklets to distribute at your community event or workplace.Education

The Education Committee is excited to announce the Bursary Applications are now available. Deadline for applications is September 22, 2022.
There are six available Bursaries:
> Four $1,000 Open ($500 over two semesters)
> Two $500 Bill Ferguson Bursary for CUPE Local 900 Members Only

Workplace Injuries
Have you been injured at work? Ensure you understand what is required in order to efficiently and successfully file a claim with WCB. With access to physicians in our community being more of a challenge, it is critical that you know what forms to fill out and information to be collected.
