    About your union

    CUPE 900 represents municipal workers across the Thompson-Nicola, including those in the communities of Ashcroft, Barriere, Chase, Clearwater, Clinton, Kamloops, Logan Lake, Lytton, and Merritt, plus those working for the TNRD itself. Workers at the Kamloops Golf and Country Club, Kamloops Wildlife Park Society, and the Raleigh Waterworks are also among the 900+ members of CUPE Local 900.     CUPE Public Employee – CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

    Those wishing to contribute to the August 25 special Labour Day Members’ edition of Public Employee Magazine can download the attached brochure for guidelines, and send submissions to editor Dan Gawthrop by July 8, 2022.

    MPP Board of Trustees – Alternate Trustee
    Applications from members will be accepted at the CUPE BC Division until July 1, 2022.  Members are asked to provide a complete resume and cover letter addressed to the attention of Trevor Davies, Secretary-Treasurer via email or by mail to:

    Applications will be reviewed by the Selection Committee. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and offered interviews during the last two weeks of July with a final recommendation being made by the CUPE BC Executive Board for decision. The position will run for the remainder of the term until December 2023 with possibility of re-appointment of additional terms. CUPE BC is seeking a member with background in pension plan governance/investments, and is in a position to commit multiple years (prefer 5 or more) and has the time to attend all meetings.

    Local Government Elections – Member Mobilizers

    CUPE BC members interested in becoming a Member Mobilizer for the upcoming Local Government Elections will be asked to complete a short application and possibly participate in a brief interview. If you think you know of a member who would make a great election organizer and can be booked off as a Member Mobilizer, please contact Nathan Allen, CUPE Community Election Coordinator by email or call the BC Regional Office at 604-291-1940. Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2022.
